The municipality of Geertruidenberg recognizes and appreciates young family caregivers! From next September 1 until December 31, 2025, young family caregivers between the ages of twelve and eighteen have the opportunity to apply for a special gift certificate from the Surplus Youth Work & Mantelzorg.   

Very normal, but also special
Young family caregivers, also known as Co-Providers, often face unique challenges. They provide extra care and support at home, sometimes worry about their loved ones, and lack care themselves that other young people their age take for granted. Consider doing extra chores around the house, caring for a sibling or supporting a parent with a mental illness. The municipality wants to encourage these young people and show them that their efforts are appreciated. For young people themselves, informal care is often quite normal, but we think it is special!

The gift certificates are a way to put young family caregivers in the spotlight. They can use the vouchers to treat themselves and buy something they have been looking forward to for a long time. The voucher can be picked up at the youth work in January. To sign up: mail to jongerenwerk.geertruidenberg@surplus.nl Include the name, address, date of birth of the young person. Briefly tell why exactly this young person should receive the gift certificate!
